Answer: Here's an architecture diagram with a short description.

Excel 365 Connector - Architecture Scheme

 

The key part of the above diagram is that the data exchange between the Jira instance and the Excel 365 worksheet takes place in Your (customer) isolated network.

Nothing is stored outside (externally) - in our infrastructure.

The Excel browser is based on webdriver which use your web browser (e.c Internet Explorer(IE) or Microsoft Edge (Webview2))
