App usage

Excel 365 Connector allows you to use the power of Excel in managing Jira issues. This is a 2-way communication, you can get insights from data and modify needed field values. You can make bulk changes or monitor Jira issues without the need to log in to Jira in browser. Users can also create new or edit issues directly from Excel workbooks and perform bulk operations

Configuration

Jira: Jira Administrator needs to install app

In order to use the app in Jira it needs to be installed by user with permission to install apps.

Please contact your Jira Administrator with links to our app if you would like to try it on your Jira.

  1. Make sure and double check that Jira is configured to run on HTTPS

  2. You must add https://ec365.ttae.com.pl to your Allowlist (Whitelist)

Excel: Install “Connector for Jira”

Each user must install the app individually, e.g. from the MS Store: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/office/WA200001970

In case of MS Store being disabled by company policy, app can be installed from Admin Center / SharePoint App Catalog. Read about: Disabled access to Excel MS Store or offline installation

Each user needs to login with their Jira username and password also providing Jira base URL

Import issues

With the app installed, you can easily import issues into Excel with the use of your favorite filters or by building JQL queries, you can use multiple sheets. You can use Desktop and Web based Excel versions and get issue data, that you need. Now you can use Excel to run, analyse or update data.

Export issues

When you get issues into Excel, you can start editing them (with respect to Jira permissions). You can also create new Jira issues, right from the Excel. It can be done with ‘Create’ button or ‘#' sign in Key column. When you want to send changes just use the 'Export’ button.

Templating

This feature allows to insert variables into spreadsheets and fill them out with specified issue data. It can be used to create templates and fill them out in real time (powered by Excel).

Sending issue structures

This feature allows user to send whole structures of newly created issues connected together at once, without creating a parent issue first. With this ability, you can create issue types with tasks and subtasks. They run on temporary/virtual issue IDs, which are converted to Issue keys when changes are being sent to Jira.

Custom fields management

We support a lot of Jira fields and made them available in the columns of our plugin inside Excel worksheets. It is possible to select Visible/Hidden fields to customize your Excel sheets.
