Fetching issues

Fetching issues

To start working on Jira data you need to Import issues from any of the saved filters (those are filters available for logged in user) or use JQL.

When fetching data from Jira, results are limited to 3000 issues.

When you have data in excel, you can easily change visible columns, reducing the number of visible columns will also increase performance. After refresh, the columns remain as they were.

Use schema from the selected filter

When importing from a selected filter (1), you can let the connector apply that filter’s column order. You will see the message “After import, the filter’s column order will be applied” (2), meaning it will be used as the worksheet schema (visible fields and their order). To enable this, turn on Use saved column order (3), the checkbox under the filter selector in the General tab, before importing.

How to enable it

  • Select a saved column order (3 → 4) (this option is not available for JQL or default/system filters).

  • Click “Import” (5) button to apply.

  • The checkbox is available only if the selected filter has a column order configured.
If it does not, the option is greyed out (6) with the note "This filter does not have column order configured." (7)

  • When importing from a Jira default filter (8), the column order cannot be configured. In this case, the Use saved column order option is disabled, and you will see the message “This operation is not available for this filter” (9). The issues are then imported using the column order from the currently selected schema.

How to use it

  • Select the saved filter you want to import from.

  • Tick Use saved column order.

  • Import issues as usual — the filter's column order is applied to the worksheet automatically, so the visible fields and their order match the filter.

How it affects schema selection

  • On import, the column order from the filter is applied — setting the visible fields and their order to match the filter.

  • If the fields and their order match a saved schema, the schema is selected automatically. Otherwise, the column order is applied without selecting any schema.

  • If the filter has no column order, your current schema is left unchanged.
