Installation - JIRA Add-on [3.5.x]

Relevant for server version:

  1. Log into your JIRA instance using your administrator account

  2. Click the cog drop-down and select Add-ons from the Jira Administration panel

  3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page

  4. Locate Excel Connector for JIRA via search (make sure its vendor is listed as Transition Technologies PSC)

  5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Excel Connector for JIRA

  6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian

  7. Click Apply license



Information for offline Jira users

When Jira is installed on a host with no internet access, add-ons like Excel Connector may still be installed manually. To download a version from Atlassian Marketplace, please visit: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/pl.com.tt.jira.plugin.excel2jira/versions and download the newest one.



For Jira Administrators:

When you update Excel Connector for Jira, make sure to inform users about the need of updating the Excel Add-In and guide them to this page: Installing the MS Excel Add-in [3.5.x]

This is applicable only for updates regarding major versions (i.e from version 3.4.x to version 3.5.x)

Below is what you can expect if versions are mismatched (Excel's Connector users will receive this type of error message after loggining-in):

  • Each person who wishes to use it, needs to install add-in locally on their system (in some cases it can be done by windows system administrator on all workstations).

  • There are two possibilities during add-in installation: separate by each workstation's user solely for his/her Windows user account, or to be installed for everyone who is to have (or already has) Windows user's account on it.
