It is new type of leave in which user is able to select first or second half of day for desired leave. This type of leave spans only for a single day and there's no end date (when selected, you won't see it on "Create Vacation Document" request).

If a user wants to take more than one half-day leave, then it is necessary to create multiple requests - one per each calendar day. Taking half-day leave reduces available vacation days quota by 0.5 (half a day) - see below (3).

To request half-day leave, you have to select date (1) and half of day (2). Option AM stands for first half of workday and PM stands for second half.

(warning) Be advised:

  • AM is valid not only for shifts that are placed between 12:00 AM till 11:59 AM hours;
  • PM stands for shift hours located not only between 12:00 PM till 11:59 PM hours.

Here it is crucial to underline that half of selected working day hours are taken out, when such leave is selected by a user and accepted by his/her manager. By half of selected day hours, it is meant an exact half of calendar day working hours (50%). The split is made exactly in half of working day hours.

Example:

In a scenario where user named John works between i.e. 06:30 AM till 02:30 PM (8 hours of standard full-time shift = 100% of working hours), when:

  • If AM is ticked, then it means that only first half of his work hours located thoroughly in AM time frame are taken into account. As he is employed to work 8 hours shift, then 50% of it means to be 4 hours of working day between 06:30 AM till 10:30 AM.
  • If John decided to select PM, then hours from 10:30 AM till 02:30 PM are taken out and assigned to such leave (this is also a 50% of working day hours).
