When creating an account in Jira, users are required to provide data such as E-mail, Full name, Username and Password.

To prevent creating a duplicate account, the “Username” field is unique. However, it may happen that Jira users may have the same "Full name". Take a look on the example below:

So how does the EC365 react to such a situation?

In this case, you must be aware that when using EC365 (when creating new issues, assigning "assignee", "reporter"), the “Full name” will always be used from the user who is logged in to EC365.

If you are an admin and you would like to create /edit an issue using in the field assignee/reporter the name of duplicated users, then EC365 will always use full name of the first created user.

Example 1:

I logged in as a first user: Gosia Double (“Gosia Kowalska”). After clicking “Import”, I’ll see only issues which are reported by user 1. (“Gosia Kowalska”). New issues or edited one will be always connected with first user after providing name “Gosia Kowalska”. It is not possible to change to the second user at this time.

To import and display issues reported also by second user with the same full name, I must use filter JQL and use in a query unique name “Username” - reporter in ("Gosia Kowalska","Gosia Double").

Example 2:

I logged in to the EC365 as an admin. I would like to create new issue and assign it to the “Gosia Kowalska” (user 1). I am able to that by following step: Create → fill in all required fields → Export. However, I cannot select user 2.

Info

It is impossible to choose assignee or reporter between users with the same full name. The user who created the account first will always be selected in this case.
