Bulk Edit SI
There is now a possibility to Edit several Scheduled Issues at the same time in Scheduler Cloud.
Bulk Edit location
Bulk Edit is located at the top of SI Table. By default this button becomes clickable if you select at least two Scheduled Issues.
Bulk Edit process
After clicking Bulk Edit button a pop up of this feature will appear.
Bulk Edit will contain fields that are present in all selected Scheduled Issues. By default when first opened Bulk Edit all fields are toggled off (button on the left of the field).Toggle the field on and the field is available to be edited.
When pressing Submit changes for selected fields will be applied to all selected Scheduled Issues.
Bulk Edit - Partial Success
If at least one Scheduled Issue is successfully edited, but one or more edits fail, Scheduler displays a partial success notification.
User can click on Show error button to see what went wrong.
Bulk Edit - Failure
If none of the Scheduled Issues could be successfully updated, Scheduler triggers a critical error notification.
User can click on Show error button to see what went wrong.
To keep in mind
Different issue types and their fields
Task Issue type
Bug Issue type
Bulk Edit sources fields from all selected Scheduled Issues no matter of their issue type however those fields have to be present in all selected issue types.
In Bulk Edit all fields that are in common for selected issue types will be displayed. As you can see above Task Issue Type doesn’t have Start Date there fore Start Date doesn’t appear in Bulk Edit.
Required fields in Bulk Edit
If one issue type has field selected to be required then Bulk Edit will also mark it as required.
Required fields are validated only if they’re toggled on. If you submit the changes without toggling on required fields Bulk Edit will continue without issues therefore keeping current values as they were.
Request type in Bulk Edit
Request type fields toggle is disabled in Bulk Edit as well as their individual fields. Only standard issue type fields can be used.
Request type field can be changed in Bulk Edit but doing so might result in change of the issue type as well to one that matches selected request type.
Leaving field toggled on without changes
When you toggle the field on and leave it empty then Submit the changes, Scheduler will clear this field for all selected Scheduled Issues.
This only works with fields that are not marked as required.
Number of edited SIs
Number of affected Scheduled Issues will be displayed after clicking Submit.
