How to make link from The Scheduler pop-ups works correctly

The application has active links that redirect the user to the relevant article in the documentation. Links may also appear in warning messages and should redirect user to the specified location. An example of alert with link is shown in the image below:

Allowing links from pop-ups to redirect in specific website

By default, browsers blocks pop-ups and other options from automatically showing up on your screen, so you will not be redirect to the indicated page. When a pop-up is blocked, the address bar will be marked Pop-up blocked. Even if you try to open link from the pop-up in new tab, you will see the same page. You can decide to allow pop-ups. In that case, you should check your browser settings or look for hints in the address bar.

Without enabling this option, it is not possible to open links from warning pop-ups.

Below you can find info how to manage pop-ups and redirects for a specific site in popular browsers:

Chrome

OPTION 1

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. Go to a page where pop-ups are blocked, e.g. create Scheduled Issue and fill all basic information you need.

  3. Use “predefined variables” in “Description”, step “Issue Details” in Sheduled Issue Wizard, so that a warning appears.

  1. Click in link “Learn how to use predefined variables” from warning window.

  1. After clicking on the link, a blocker appears in the web address.

  1. In the address bar, click Pop-up blocked. You will see another window with hint.

  1. Click the link for the pop-up you want to see. You will redirect to this certain page.

  1. To always see pop-ups for the site, select Always allow pop-ups and redirects from <website address> (1). Then you can confirm your choice by clicking Done (2).

Other notes:
Please note that if you select any of the options for this particular address, the settings (pop-ups and redirects) will be assigned to the page that you specify.

 

OPTION 2

There is another way to manage pop-ups. You have to:

Open Chrome on your computer → click three dots at the top right corner (1) → select Settings (2) → click Privacy and security (3) → go to Site Settings (4) → next Pop-ups and redirects (5) choose Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects (6.1) or personalise this settings and point to a specific page Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects (6.2) → Add site (7)

 

Firefox

OPTION 1

  1. On your computer, open Firefox.

  2. Go to a page where pop-ups are blocked, e.g. create Scheduled Issue and fill all basic information you need.

  3. Use “predefined variables” in “Description”, step “Issue Details” in Sheduled Issue Wizard, so that a warning appears.

  1. Click in link “Learn how to use predefined variables” from warning window.

  1. After clicking on the link, a blocker appears. Firefox displays an information bar as well as an icon

    in the address bar.

  1. You can click the Options button in the info bar or the icon in the address bar and a menu is displayed with the following choices:

  • Allow/Block pop-ups for <website address>

  • Manage pop-up settings

  • Don't show this message when pop-ups are blocked

  • Show <pop-up web address>

  1. If you select:
    (a) Option button and allow pop-ups for <website address>, the blocked page (or pages if you have clicked on the link more than once) will be displayed in a new tab.
    (b) Blocker icon you must choose allow from the drop-down menu and click on the link in the warning window again. The page will open in a new tab.

Other notes:
In both cases, you can allow a blocked page to open once by clicking the link.

 

Please note that if you select any of the options for this particular address, the settings (pop-ups and redirects) will be assigned to the page that you specify.

 

OPTION 2

There is another way to manage pop-ups. You have to:

Open Firefox on your computer → click menu button at the top right corner ( 1 ) → select Settings ( 2 ) → click Privacy & Security panel ( 3 ) → go down to the Permissions section ( 4 ) → unchecked the box next to Block pop-up windows to disable the pop-up blocker altogether ( 5.1 ) or personalise this settings by clicking the Exceptions button to the right of Block pop-up windows to open a dialog box, then choose which sites are allowed to display pop-ups ( 5.2 ) → type or paste the address of a website ( 6 ) → click the Allow button ( 7 ) → click Save Changes button to confirm your choice ( 8 )

 

Edge

OPTION 1

  1. On your computer, open Edge.

  2. Go to a page where pop-ups are blocked, e.g. create Scheduled Issue and fill all basic information you need.

  3. Use “predefined variables” in “Description”, step “Issue Details” in Sheduled Issue Wizard, so that a warning appears.

 

  1. Click in link “Learn how to use predefined variables” from warning window.

  1. After clicking on the link, a blocker appears in the web address.

  1. In the address bar, click Pop-up blocked. You will see another window with hint.

 

  1. Click the link for the pop-up you want to see. You will redirect to this certain page.

Open Edge on your computer → click three dots at the top right corner ( 1 ) → select Settings ( 2 ) → click Cookies and site permissions tab on sidebar ( 3 ) → go down to the Pop-ups and redirects ( 4 ) → move the slider next to Blocked (recommended) ( 5.1 ) or personalise this settings by clicking the Add button in Allow section ( 5.2 ) → type or paste the address of a website ( 6 ) → click the Add button ( 7 )
