To enable Debug mode:
Navigate to Excel Connector for JIRA ribbon and log in
Click on Settings button
Enable Debug Mode option
The Excel Connector log file named ExcelConnector.log is located in C:\Users\ {your_username} \AppData\Local\Transition Technologies S.A\Excel Connector directory.
If you're running Microsoft Office 2010 without Service Pack 1, you'll have to install Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime manually. You can download it from here.
If you still can’t see this tab, click Microsoft Office Button, then Options and Add-ins. In the details pane, check where Excel Connector for JIRA AddIn is located.
If Excel Connector is located in the Disabled Application Add-ins list, in the Manage box select Disabled Add-ins and click Go. Then select Excel Connector and click Enable. After that, you probably should restart Excel.
Otherwise, if Connector is located in Inactive Application Add-ins list, in the Manage box select COM Add-ins and click Go. Then, in dialog box, select Excel Connector check box and click OK. After that, Excel should load add-in without restart.
If the above did not work and you're still not able to see Excel Connector tab, please follow the following steps and open a request ticket:
In general, we block all the read-only JIRA fields, as well as some of the custom fields that Excel Connector can not yet handle, so that you do not corrupt your data by accident.
However, we're constantly increasing the number of supported fields. If you're looking for a specific field support, please raise a ticket on our issue tracker.

Please try with adding more time to wait for Jira response in the "Seconds" box (2):
In case of such probelms, one may try with setting e.g. 360 seconds before timeout error to occur.
