One of unique features is a possibility to make contacts form one project to be visible within a different one.(warning)

Note

Be advised: This is a one way linking, meaning that when you share contacts from project to a different one, contacts from a project you share with, won't be visible within a project whose contacts were shared.

To share contacts you must log in as Jira administrator and open administration menu (1) to access "Projects" (2). On the left hand side find "Linking project contacts" (3). After clicking on it you'll be presented with a list of projects:

...

Sharing happens directly after ticking a project from a list. After making a choice click "Close" to approve it.(info)

Info

Grayed out (inactive) tick box means that there are no contacts present within a project, so it is impossible to share it.

Linked contacts are now visible in dedicated column (1). In a below example Jira's "Planning" project will have an access to contacts (and its members) from an "Assembly" (2) project (whilst "Assembly" project contacts won't see their counterparts from "Planning" project):

As one can see, Planning's project administrator can see an exact view of "Contacts" from other listed below project (1):

There's a possibility to add unlimited number of contacts to a particular project and link (share) an unlimited number of contacts between different projects. Any single Jira project can have also an access to unlimited number of contacts from other projects. Changes in an original contacts' content of certain Jira project are reflected directly and immediately among linked (shared) contacts in other Jira's projects contacts. This feature suits perfectly dynamic business environments who wish to sustain the highest level of stored information that is always up to date, or to be updated in real time. Highly recommended for import/export related businesses and stock exchanges, where heading to a right contact in right time means to win a high bid.
